Objectives
This qualification is designed to give all personnel an appreciation of the significant environmental impacts of their own workplace and business. We depend upon the land, air, water, plants and animals for our survival and quality of life. Yet our activities at work, the materials we use and the products and services we create can all harm the environment. Companies and governments now take environmental issues very seriously, partly because individuals – as consumers, voters and members of pressure groups – demand action to solve environmental problems. Through our work each one of us can also play a crucial part in avoiding damage to the environment.
Delegates at the end of the course will be able to assist in drafting an environmental policy for their organisation and understand the implications of an environmental policy on their business as a whole.
This course outlines the main environmental problems and suggests actions you can take at work to help to reduce them. You may not be responsible for carrying out all the actions yourself, but you need to be aware of why they are being taken and the role you play.
This is a full day course and at the end delegates will take a written exam and those that are successful will receive a CIEH accredited certificate.
