* Current valid HSE Approved First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate.
* Candidates are advised to revise from previous course material, and material that can be obtained from our website, so that knowledge can be applied to practical work within the allocated time.

Dean joined the company in 2000 as an ambulance technician, and has been training for the company since 2002. His friendly and knowledgeable approach to training is often commented upon by his students, as is his hands-on attitude towards delivery. Dean continues to thrive within the company, and now oversees the majority of our internal staff training and EMT skills updates, including the administering of Medical Gasses and the use of AEDs.

Ria started her working career with Powys County Council Social Care, providing personal care and assistance for elderly persons in the community. She joined AWAS in 2008, deciding that she would like to pursue a career in Manual Handling Training. Following her training with Edge Services, Ria has gone on to train many staff in Nursing Homes, Industrial Sites and Office workers. She is well-versed in both Manual Handling and First Aid skills, and continues to develop her skills with the company today.

Course programme

Local authorities frequently require staff to transport or care for clients who carry emergency treatment for Anaphylaxis.

The course also relates to common outcomes of this serious reaction, such as unconsciousness and respiratory arrest. Therefore, CPR & Recovery Position update skills are included for candidates during the session.

Certification

* Epi-pen Administration Certificate, valid for 12 months.
* Candidates will be continually assessed by their Training Facilitator, and undertake a short written assessment at the end of the course.
