Course Title: Epilepsy
Overview:
The awareness session will benefit all carers who work with
service users who suffer from epilepsy.
It is vital that you have an understanding of the types of seizures that you may be faced with and your role and responsibility.
Course Content:
The course covers:
- What epilepsy is and some of its causes
- The different types of seizures
- How to provide first aid and administer rectal diazepam
- How to monitor and record seizure activity
- The health and social implications of epilepsy
- The role of a carer for a person with epilepsy
