Continuing the induction programme, the second study day looks at five of the most common medical conditions affecting older people and people with learning disabilities.

Each condition is explained and group discussion is encouraged to enable attendees to share their own experiences and expertise.

The course covers:

• Multiple Sclerosis - causes, symptoms, supporting sufferers
• Epilepsy - classification of seizures, safety of sufferers, first aid
• Parkinson’s Disease - causes, symptoms, supporting sufferers
• Stroke - causes, brain function, symptoms, warning signs
• Diabetes - symptoms, Type I & Type II, treatment, supporting
• sufferers
