Course programme
Description:
This course has been designed specifically to introduce the engineer to the legal concepts underpinning commercial contracting.
For the vast majority of engineers, the work they are doing is governed, somewhere along the line, by a contract between a customer and a supplier. If the work goes anything less than 100% according to plan: If there is a change of specification; a delivery date slippage; a cost over-run; then the contract is meant to determine the consequences. But just when should that contract be invoked, rather than the customer and the supplier just sorting out a practical answer to a practical problem? What are the consequences of invoking or not invoking the contract?
