Ethics and Values in Social Care Course
About the Level 4 Ethics and Values in Social Care Certificate
Strong ethics and values are essential to effective social work. In fact, in this profession they are probably the two most important factors to consider. Due to the nature of the situations that social carers encounter, these individuals need to have a comprehensive understanding of what is right and wrong and how best to approach tricky situations.
This course is spread across six engaging modules. These units cover topics ranging from values in practice and moral philosophy to self-determination, oppression and respect. Altogether this distance learning course should take approximately 150 – 200 hours to complete, however at Stonebridge College, we encourage our students to work at their own pace.
Who should study this course?
This course is aimed at students who are looking to work in the care sector. The course is also suitable for individuals who already hold positions in social care and are looking to develop their practice and advance their career.
As with all of our home learning courses here at Stonebridge, you do not need any previous accreditations in order to apply. All we ask is that you have an interest in social care, access to the internet and the motivation to engage in home study.
What happens after the course?
By the end of this home learning qualification you will have a fundamental understanding of the morals and ethics involved in professional social care. You will be able to channel these new skills into your existing career, or use them to find a new job.
