Exercise to Music
For those of you who want to deliver fun an exciting studio classes, the Exercise to Music (ETM) is a must. You will gain all the practical skills and confidence you need to plan and teach ETM (aerobics) classes. You will learn how to add choreography to your routines allowing you to add creativity to your classes, meaning your customers are never bored of their routines.
This course is also a pre-requisite for the famous Les Mills BODY ATTACK®, BODYJAM® and BODYSTEP® classes you will find in gyms and health clubs across the world. Typically taking 6-8 weeks to complete and you will also cover the theoretical knowledge to be able to advise people on exercise programmes within the studio environment as a fully qualified aerobics instructor. For those of you who wish to gain all round skills in the gym in addition to ETM and studio classes look at our Combined Instructor courses where you will gain the skills to deliver studio classes as well as induct your clients around a gym.

This is the order in which you should complete the modules, however we do advise that you complete the assessment for Exercise and Fitness Knowledge level 2 after the Exercise to Music module.
1. Exercise and Fitness Knowledge Level 2
This is a distance learning module supported by workbooks and a fully interactive CD Rom which takes approximately 40 hours to complete.

2. Exercise to Music
This is a five day practical module for the aspiring aerobics instructor. You will be required to attend two practical assessment days approximately two weeks after this Exercise to Music module.

Entry requirements
There are no entry requirements for this course, although we recommend that you have participated in exercise to music classes before commencing the course.

Assessment and certification
The award is assessed against the National Standards for Exercise and Fitness. Students will be required to sit a theory paper and a practical Exercise to Music assessment where you will be required to bring along two participants. Successful completion will achieve the Lifetime Exercise to Music Instructor and entry to REPs at Level 2. Save £5 on your REPs membership with Lifetime.
