Crochet is a deceptively simple craft, easy to pick up but difficult to master.
This course will be an introduction to and an exploration of crochet.
Starting with learning the basic stitches then progressively building up to more complex combinations of stitches such as granny squares, crocheting in the round, openwork crochet, and creating 3-dimensional shaping.

Course programme

Once you have mastered the basic stitches you will be encouraged to work with unconventional materials such as cassette tape, wire, roving or leather.

By the end of the course you will create a portfolio of experimental crochet ideas as well as several more intricately worked pieces which could be the beginning of a garment, jewellery, bag, sculpture, toy – its up to you!
