Hand Knitting & Crochet

Level: Level 2

Course content:
A very design-led course aimed at level 2 students. Complete beginners will be taught all the basic techniques and all students will be encouraged to experiment and develop ideas or work from commercially produced patterns
At the end of the course you will be able to:
Understand the pattern making process
Develop a pattern for a garment or accessory
Use Increase and decrease stitches as an integral part of the design process
Join seams and use different finishing techniques as an integral part of the design process
Identify techniques and use technical language
Have the opportunity to share skills and ideas

Course Structure:
Students will work on their own individual projects.. They will be given one to one or small group teaching and at their own pace covering various techniques. They will be given constant guidance. Weekly group demonstrations to introduce new techniques

Fee 1: Standard fee;
Fee 2: Aged 60+ years fee
Students in receipt of an income-based benefit pay £20 per course per term.
You will need to bring proof of age and any benefits when you enrol.
You DO NOT have to pay a college registration fee for these courses, but you may have to pay for additional course materials.Materials costs:
None. Students need to bring a notebook and A4 folder, basic sewing kit and an assortment of yarns, needles and hooks for developing ideas
