2. Course description This is a work-related qualification which develops themes required for careers or further study in the rewarding Health and Social Care sector. Core units include: - Effective Communication in Health and Social Care - Equality, Diversity and Rights - Health, Safety and Security - Human Lifespan Development - Anatomy and Physiology - Personal and Professional Development You will also work towards Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English, and there are optional classes for people wanting to achieve GCSE English, maths and science. In both years you will do work experience placements requiring a DBS check.

Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method The vocational qualification is assessed by a portfolio of evidence which may include completed assignments, reports and research projects, controlled written assessment, presentations and activities assessed in class or while on work placement. Assignments are internally marked and graded and you will receive regular feedback on how to improve throughout the course to ensure you stay on track and help you achieve your desired grades. In addition you will take exam-based assessments in English and Maths, leading to Functional Skills qualifications.
