A merit grade at a full level 2 subject relevant course eg Level 2 Diploma in Public Services Extended Year 2 A Subsidiary diploma plus 30 extra credits achieved with a full first year completed. What will I study on the course?
Subsidiary year 1
You will study exciting units including:- leadership and teamwork; what makes a good leader and how does a good leader show their skills and qualities; Practical teamwork tasks with uniformed agencies; Health and fitness; how we keep fit, why we keep fit and what tests and assessments the uniformed services use; Map and navigation, how to read a map, create route cards and complete day walks in Northumberland; Major Incidents, what is a major incident and how the uniformed services plan for them; Practical scenario exercises with the emergency services.
Extended year 2
You will study exciting units including:-Behaviour; why do those in the uniformed services behave in a certain way and how to manage it; War and terrorism, how does war and terrorism effect the uniformed services; what do they do and why and how do we counter act it; Land Based activities, high ropes, zip wire and rock climbing; Command and control, what does good command look like and how do we become a good commander.
Throughout the course you will have activities with agencies which could include the: Army, RAF, Royal Navy, Emergency Services, and Outdoor Education.
