Extended Research Project A Level LocationCranford Avenue Course Overview Apply Now The Extended Research Project has the dual bonus of awarding an AS equivalent grade with the accompanying UCAS points and preparing you for Higher Education by giving you the necessary skills to work independently on a research project following the process appropriate to university study. If you choose the right title for your research project, you will expand your knowledge on a subject in which you are interested and which can link directly into your future study opportunities/employment. This can compliment any A Level.

Course programme

• At least 5 GCSEs at minimum grade C including maths and English • You must be studying an AS, A2 or other Level 3 qualification. Course Content This A Level prepares you for Higher Education and can complement any A Level. You will expand your knowledge on a subject of interest, which can link directly to your future study opportunities or employment. The project can take the form of pure research, an investigation, a performance or an artefact. You will be required to do the following: • Draft a project title • Draft aims of the project • Plan, research and carry out the project • Provide evidence of all stages of project production • Produce a report or a dissertation • Deliver a presentation to a specified audience. You will be expected to work independently, with weekly advice and support from your lecturer/tutor to produce your final report/dissertation. Progression This course is an excellent preparation for life beyond Further Education, whether that be in employment or in Higher Education.
