Content
This will develop practical skills to meet industrial applications, joining a range of materials using various welding processes such as MIG, TIG, MMA etc or developing fabrication practices to allow candidates to demonstrate a level of competence and be assessed to meet National Standards at NVQ level 3.

The Technical Certificate will provide the underpinning knowledge to support the candidates training and development, covering such things as engineering materials, Working Safely and efficiently in an industrial environment, Inspection and Quality requirements, Welding and Fabrications principles and practices.

Assessment Candidates will be assessed through the use of examinations, practical and theory assignments.
Assessment within the workplace will be required to complete the NVQ 3 in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering.

Progression Once complete candidates can progress onto a BTEC National Certificate and HNC/D in Engineering Framework
  • Foundation training _ Eight units from the NVQ Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations
  • Technical Certificate - An appropriate Level 3 award such as,( a Progression Award in Production Engineering Welding / Fabrication)
  • Key Skills - Application of Number Level 2, Communication Level 2, Information Technology Level 2, Working With Others Level 2 and Improving Own Learning Level 2
