Introduction:
The course is split into two parts; NVQ 2 in Performing Engineering Operations and Technical. The majority of the course will be delivered in the workshop practically undertaking welding processes i.e. MIG, MMA, TIG, OXY or combine your NVQ with Sheet Metal Techniques.

In addition to your NVQ the course includes the ABC Level 1 Certificate in Fabrication & Welding Practice; this gives you the basic understanding and appreciation of being able to read and draw engineering drawings. You will have the opportunity to learn about common forms of Metal Supply (to the relevant B.S. Standard) that are used in fabrication and the assembly techniques as well as knowing about inspection and quality control methods. This qualification also enables you to use the popular welding process - Metal Arc Gas Sheilded Welding - which is used in the industry.
