Course programme

Year 1

In the first year, you will complete the module on employer s rights and responsibilities. You would also need to do functional skills in maths and English at level 1 if you do not have a C (4) Grade or above in GCSE, the focus would be on the technical certificate which is knowledge and understanding for the units you have chosen. The training you would receive would be in the following areas of facilities; reduce risks to Health and Safety in the workplace, promote and maintain service delivery, develop customer relationships, contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of premises and facilities, supporting the work of a team and develop yourself, control the use of resources in a property, caretaking and Facilities Services Environment.

Year 2

This course can be completed within 13 months and in this time you and your assessor will be signing units off to show you have the skills and knowledge and understanding for the qualification. You will be assessed carrying out day to day duties within your workplace to ensure you are competent in your job role.

Additional information

Assessment is undertaken in the workplace or at College. You should demonstrate competence across various work-based tasks and compile a portfolio of evidence, this will be conducted in the work place by your assigned assessor and the use of our e-portfolio system.
