Course programme
Apprenticeships are a vocational training programme leading to a series of qualifications, offering the opportunity to earn while you learn using real working life experience. To become an apprentice you must be employed in a suitable position.
What modules are covered?Work Based Learning Element - Certificate in Facilities Services Level 2. This is a work based qualification that you will complete in your work place. An assessor will be assigned to help you select the modules which best fit with your work and will visit you regularly to help you compile a portfolio of evidence to show your competence. As the Certificate is tailored to the individual, the time taken to complete your portfolio will depend on how quickly you collect the evidence. Normally this would take a minimum of 12-15 months to complete.
College Element - Knowledge and Functional Skills. There may be some College attendance in order to support you as an individual through the knowledge elements of your framework and also assist you to complete your functional skills. Each apprentice will be provided with an individual plan which will be discussed with you and your employer and your timetable will be designed around your specific needs. You will cover topics including:
Employee rights and responsibilities
Principles of Facility Services Management
Promote and maintain Service Delivery
Reduce risks to health and safety in the workplace
Intermediate Apprenticeship in Facilities Management
Certificate in Facilities Services, Maths & English Functional Skills
Assessment is a combination of portfolio evidence and online and written testing, supported by your assessor, tutor, Work Based Learning Manager and employer.
What is the entry process?Complete an online application form and you will be contacted by the College to discuss the programme in more detail. We will also give you information about current vacancies and how to apply for them. We may send your application direct to the employer.
