The farmer owns or manages land that he cultivates with various types of products. In his work, the farmer takes care of the entire process of cultivating the agricultural land, from preparing the land to sowing, harvesting and selling the products. He can also carry out his business as owner, tenant, sharecropper or employee of an agricultural company and can support his activity also with the breeding of poultry or barn and / or grazing livestock. According to historical sources and archaeological data, the farmer is one of the first trades and in any case one of the main activities that led and followed the so-called Neolithic revolution, which for about ten thousand years in various parts of the inhabited world has consisted of appropriate the life cycle of plants (and animals) in order to derive various benefits, starting with food. This activity was what made man settled in a delimited place. The job therefore consists in providing food to oneself and to other people in exchange for an economic return. This way of life was the main occupation of the majority of humans from the Neolithic revolution up to the 20th century. The term farmer is usually applied to a person who raises crops in the fields or owns orchards, vineyards or vegetable gardens with the prospect of selling the proceeds to others as a product of the earth. It could also supply industries with raw materials, such as cereals for alcoholic beverages, fruit for juices or linen for weaving. Farmers can also be involved in raising livestock for milk or meat. Often, a small amount of the crop or produce is sold for money with which the farmer can buy something else at the market.
