Fashion Design BA (Hons) with Integrated Foundation

The BA (Hons) Fashion Design with Integrated Foundation includes one year of studies at the foundation level and is designed for those who do not meet the requirements for direct entry to the BA (Hons) Fashion Design.Design professionals increasingly work across boundaries between industries. The knowledge you gain from a foundation year will open your mind to working across different areas of fashion and design and enable you to work more effectively with others, both as a student and in industry.The Integrated Foundation programme provides a broad-based introduction to fashion and design, where you can explore and develop your understanding of the creative industries, fashion design, fashion marketing and interior design.The BA (Hons) Fashion Design aims to produce creative fashion innovators who are passionate about design. The programme will enable you to develop your own signature style and express your personal philosophy of fashion, with plenty of opportunities to showcase your work. As well as conceptual skills, you will explore the practicalities of the design process, and build your technical skills in areas such as drawing, computer-aided design, the creation of textiles, pattern-cutting and garment construction. You will also learn about the evolution of fashion and explore the relationship between fashion, society and culture.Our innovative and challenging BA (Hons) programme integrates theoretical understanding with practical, hands-on experience.
