2. Course description This course is aimed at students who are interested in studying Textile Design and Fashion as a broad subject area and is flexible to meet your interests and aspirations. In your first year you will undertake the core units the content of which includes:Drawing painting and other marl making -Exploring the uses of media and techniques -Developing concept designs -Generating and presenting work to an audience -Study of Art and Design Practice In the second year of the course you will specialise in your chosen area of study which may include:Printed Textiles for Fabrics -Garment Construction -Accessories for Fashion -Mixed Media -Portfolio Building -Surface Pattern -Major ProjectThe specialist units will be underpinned by a solid grounding in basic Art & Design skills with opportunities to work with a broad range of students in other creative disciplines on collaborative projects.These assignments are complemented by a range of study visits to galleries outside exhibitions fashion shows and foreign study visits.Subsidiary Diploma. Diploma and Extended Diploma routes are available.

Entry requirements To gain entry to this course you must possess four or more GCSEs at Grade C or above including English (or an equivalent qualification) and preferably Maths (or equivalent qualification) or other equivalent qualifications acceptable to the College. You must also undertake a successful interview showing a portfolio of work and provide a satisfactory reference. 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method Continuous Assessment via assignments and projects observations of practical work with a Final Self Directed Major Project in the second year.
