Course programme
The aim
To use praise and constructive criticism to achieve better performance.
About the programme
Using feedback is a skill central to the success of any team and its leader. Everybody needs recognition for what they are doing well and guidance when they could be doing better.
The main programme and course guide give clear examples and guidelines on how to give feedback, such as how to ask, not tell; describe, but don't judge; how to focus on behaviour, not personality; and how to be specific and constructive.
The rogramme also demonstrates the way to receive feedback by being open, not defensive; listening and clarifying; and by actively seeking specific suggestions about how to do things differently.
The large, varied selection of ready-to-practise scenarios - with and without commentary - will help teach managers to impart criticism sensitively and constructively, and the 'feedback skills pack' is included to stimulate discussion about difficult situations, with its 30 short triggers to demonstrate and contrast specific skills.
The key outcomes
-Learn how to give and receive feedback constructively so that it makes a positive difference to performance
-Become better at taking criticism
-Improve communication and staff morale
