In India, over 69.2 million people are living with Diabetes (as per 2015 data) out of which 36 million people remain undiagnosed, according to WHO Reports. It is estimated that by 2030, the figure will touch 100 Million. Every year almost 1.3Lacs people die because of poor diabetes management and high sugar and there are very limited resources to control this situation. Diabetes can affect adversely various body parts like Brain, Heart, Nervous system, Eyes, Skin causing a stroke, heart failure, kidney dysfunction, gangrene, and nerve damage.

Fellowship in Diabetology course will not only enhance the in-depth understanding of diabetes but also will also let a physician deal with all relative clinical cases with ease. The course will impart knowledge about the management of diabetes and the treatment methods of life-threatening diseases.

The safety and quality of diabetes care of suboptimal with respect to control of blood sugar levels, blood pressure, and lipid levels. Experts believe that inadequacies related to care delivery and health care professionals' knowledge contribute to failure to initiate, intensify treatment in a timely manner for patients who are not achieving care goals and poor patient outcomes.

Medigrad in association with Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical Simulation Lab provides exclusive diabetes simulation training based on adult learning principles by being case-based, interactive and self-directed.

The assessment of a diabetic patient is best taught as a case-based simulation.

About this course

Minimum eligibility for the course is MBBS with Medical Council of India(MCI) or State Council Registration Certificate.

- We provide study material in hard copies and the E-Books to let the student study on-the-go as per the convenience and the time availability.

-Period Interactive Sessions are conducted with the highly experienced faculties where the students get a chance to interact and get their queries answered.

- Content is covered through engaging Multimedia content to make the learning interesting and descriptive.
Online Simulation Training (designed by New Zealand based organization) is provided to learn the practical aspects of a particular topic in an interesting and engaging way. It lets a student learn by doing on their own, making mistakes, correcting it and consequently let one understand of bringing that into practice in the right way.

-Practical Sessions are conducted for the specified tenure at the partnered hospitals where a student gets exposed to actual cases, observe the procedures, gets attached with the senior doctors to gain knowledge by their experience, visit the concerned departments to see the regular functioning and discussing the cases with seniors periodically.

It is a blended 1 Year course divided into 3 online modules for four months' each and 8 weeks' of practical learning during the last module in one of the renowned hospitals. During online modules, you will get the reading material in form of Books, online E-Books, Case Studies, and Video lectures by the panel of senior doctors. During the practical session, you will be trained under one of the senior & experienced doctors at the partnered hospitals for clinical exposure.
