The First Aid for Therapists course includes the full content of the Emergency First Aid at Work course, but specifically related to the therapy/salon environment. Throughout the one-day programme, therapy-related scenarios will be used to facilitate practice and consideration of the first aid aspects. Assessment of the course is completed by undertaking a theoretical multiple choice paper at the end of the day, and four practical elements throughout the day. On successful completion, candidates will be awarded the Emergency First Aid at Work certificate, which is valid for three years. Areas covered:
Assessing and managing the incident
Priorities and role of the first aider
Treatment of unconscious casualty who is breathing
Treatment of casualty who is not breathing/ resuscitation
Shock and bleeding
Choking
Management of allergic reaction/ anaphylaxis
Other common workplace injuries

About this course
