Duration
4 Years
The modern film industry is changing rapidly and with opportunities to exhibit ever more available for film makers. You will spend four years developing your creativity, your voice as an artist, your technical skills and your visual confidence as a storyteller.
Your time on this programme will give you the opportunity to build your own network of creative contacts before you enter the industry. You will undertake a work placement in a creative organisation and pitch ideas to members of the media world. This will provide you with invaluable first-hand experience and an understanding of the skills you will need in your chosen field.
An optional term spent studying abroad can enable you to expand your learning outside the UK at a one of our partner institutions around the world.
Your foundation year will provide you with a strong base of knowledge in many wider aspects of the Film & Screen landscape. Rather than purely focusing on the discipline of Film Production, it allows you to learn about screenwriting, performance, advertising, and more. This gives you a well-rounded knowledge of how the modern media industry works before you progress to Film Production modules at degree level.
