Content / Overview:
This academic course offers you an in-depth understanding of cinema. If you love analysing films and want to know more about film production, history and audience engagement, this course is for you. At AS Level you focus on Hollywood and British cinema (60%) while coursework includes: 1 written analysis of cinematic style in a film of your choice and 1 practical film exercise in script writing or filming your own sequence (40%).
At A2 Level your studies are widened to include World cinema and issues and debates in film studies. There is also an extended creative practical element, building on AS Level skills and a research project into films of your choice for the coursework module.
Both AS and A2 Level have academic essay exams.

Progression:
Degrees in film, media or journalism or careers in marketing, advertising, film or TV production.
