Course review:

This introduction course will give the students a solid grounding in this industry standard editing software. We will be using Final Cut 7. This is a practical course with students working with video on individual Macs.

By the end of the training the students will be able to:

* Understand editing concepts and digital video formats
* Set up FCP and connect cameras, tape decks and hard drives
* Log and capture video
* Understand timecode and device control
* 3 point editing and insert and overwrite edits
* Editing in the timeline
* Basic transitions and effects
* Mastering and output to tape
