Course Objectives
This course provides knowledge of fire-fighting
and fire prevention to enable the candidate to
cascade train others within their workplace to a
Basic Standard.
To provide participants with the awareness and
understanding of the threat posed by fire, their
personal responsibility in preventing an outbreak
and the action to be taken should a fire occur.
Those attending this course will be able to
implement the requirements of the current
legislation.
COURSE CONTENTS
Participants will: -
Understand the nature of fire and how it spreads.
Distinguish between the different types of extinguishers and the fires for which they are suited.
Be able to execute their fire safety responsibilities.
Be trained to Fire Marshal/Warden standards.
Will be able to train others within their workplace to a Basic Standard.
This one-day course comprises of three two-hour sessions to include: -
Training is given by a qualified exprofessional whole-time fire fighter with over 25 years operational experience. All
extinguishers & safety equipment will be provided.
· Combustion principles.
· Hazard spotting.
· Fire Extinguishment - theory.
· Operation and actuation of first-aid portable fire extinguishers.
· Fire Extinguishers - practical.
· Fire Marshal qualification training.
· Training techniques.
· Assessment.
