First Aid for Babies and Children Entry level, Part time

General information
This one day first aid course is for anyone who requires knowledge of managing emergency situations, whether in the workplace or in the home, whilst caring for babies and children. This course provides a general introduction to First Aid along with more detailed information regarding the care of babies and children. This course is particularly suitable for new parents and those working in childcare who require an introduction to first aid.

Course content
This course will cover the following topics:

• Mouth to mouth resuscitation
• CPR and the Recovery position
• Allergies and stings
• Bleeding
• Burns and scalds
• Choking
• Head injuries
• Meningitis
• Poisoning
• Simple fractures
• Treatment of shock

Teaching and assessment
After successfully completing the course you will receive a certificate of attendance. It is recommended that you renew this training every three years.
