This is a part time course, one evening per week (3 hours) a week aimed at learners who have previously gained a floristry qualification eg. NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Creative Crafts Floristry or City and Guilds Level 2 Floristry (Certificate or Diploma) or similar qualification – you will be asked to present your previous portfolio/course work at interview. The course is aimed at people who have a love of flowers, maybe looking to start their own business or work in a floristry shop at a higher level.
The course will cover the following;
Principles and Elements of Design and European Design Schema
Colour and Colour Harmonies
Hand Tied Designs
Floral Arrangements
Funeral Designs
Wedding Design

Course programme

Entry Requirements

You will need a minimum of four GCSEs at grade C or above including English or maths alternatively you will have a level 2 Diploma in horticulture or design.

Delivery and Assessment

You will complete a portfolio of work, which is assessed, for your qualification, along with two other assignments, one looking at large scale event planning and a final ‘Show Case’ of your practical floristry – guidance for all assignments is given during lessons from your tutor.

Progression

This is a professional qualification are we are looking for both a high standard of practical floristry and creative presentation of your final portfolio.
