About this course

- understand the techniques involved in flush setting different sizes and shapes of faceted stones.
- use and sharpen spitz sticks and scorpers
- take away least one of the two different shaped stones, having set it using the flush setting technique.

Course programme

Flush setting techniques for round and oval stones, in which stones are set level with the surface of a metal form.

City Lit provides most of the basic tools and equipment you will need for jewellery-making. We also provide basic materials in reasonable quantities, such as base metals, chemicals and sundries. We will provide saw blades, sandpaper, burrs and various cubic zirconia gemstones for you to practice with. However, you will be encouraged to bring your own stones and burrs on the last day. Advice will be given. Cost £10 approx ( June 11). We would recommend that you bring your own needle files if possible. You are advised that sensible footwear must be worn in studio 311. For heath and safety reasons, no sandals, open shoes & small pumps can be worn – even in hot weather.
