History
Our Jewellery Workshop is situated in the heart of Dorset close to the historic thatched village of Milton Abbas. Just 20 miles from the World Heritage Jurassic Coast we are surrounded by peaceful countryside, historic sites, lots of outdoor activities and of course pubs!!Our purpose built, professional jewellery workshop is fully equipped with tools (although you are welcome to bring your own!) and has a maximum capacity for 8 students, allowing for a more intimate, friendly atmosphere and a superb student / teacher ratio. At Flux 'n' Flame we run courses from 1 day tasters to 3 day weekends as well as a 6 day summer school and regular weekly classes throughout the year.
Advantages of studying here
We cater for absolute beginners as well as those with more experience and aim to provide a fun, relaxed and creative environment. Students are free to discover new skills and experiment with new techniques in order to stretch their creativity. Our courses are flexible in their approach - we don't tell you what you have to make but instead students are guided in whatever they choose to do and receive individual tuition at a pace suited to them. In addition to general precious jewellery making techniques covering skills such as piercing, soldering, reticulation, stone setting and forging, you can experiment with cuttlefish and sand casting techniques, creating stunning pieces with the satisfaction of using traditional, natural methods.
Areas of specialisation
Traditional silver jewellery / silversmithing

Description
After completing a Foundation Diploma at Bournemouth & Poole College of Art & Design Jesa gained an Honors Degree in History of Art and Design at Winchester College of Art. Although she loved the world of art history she was frustrated by the lack of hands on creativity and began to make jewellery. She went on to study Precious Jewellery at Portsmouth University and finally at the Sir John Cass dept. at London Guildhall University. Jesa combines precious metals with quality gem stones to create little pieces of magic. She currently has two collections, 'Being' which is a beautifully organic range using forging techniques and stunning precious and semi-precious stones to create fluid almost sculptural forms, and 'Enchanted' where she truly indulges in her love for dark fairytales. 'Enchanted' incorporates tiny sculptures of birds, animals, plants and objects into wearable stories to be created in the wearers imagination.
