Course programme

Year 1

Working with only fresh produce, the course is varied and you could find yourself doing anything from preparing fresh bread and desserts through to the fresh production of lasagnes, pies and other savoury products. You will learn excellent team work skills alongside gaining a sound knowledge of health and food safety.


Standard entry to this course requires one reference. It is desirable that you can demonstrate 90 attendance. GCSEs in both English and maths at grade 1/2 (E/F/G) or above are required. Consideration will be given to all applicants over the age of 19 who do not hold formal English and maths qualifications.

Additional information

This course is very much focused on developing practical skills and all assessments are observation based and the qualification is gained through the completion of units. Alongside your practical assessments you will be required to complete a set of knowledge-based written questions so as to show understanding.
