Football is a global economic and social as well as sporting phenomenon. Every weekend the English Premier League is watched by over 170m people in over 200 countries. In the UK it is a major industry with over 100,000 jobs. This course is designed for forward thinking sports professionals who want to lead and develop the growth of the sporting industry.
This course focuses on both the football and business related knowledge needed to develop professionals for the football industry. You will develop a clear understanding of the importance of football within the context of economic, social and cultural life both in the UK and worldwide. In addition you will also gain football coaching awards and acquire insights and valuable work based experience. As part of the course you will also develop links to the UK Sports Institute and Youth Sport Trust and you will be eligible to enter a team into BUCS league system. There are opportunities for work based learning with BMet Sports Academies.
This course will be delivered at our Centre of Sporting Excellence and Kidderminster Academy.

Entry Requirements
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS UCAS Tariff Points: Pre-2017 Entry - 180 points, Post-2017 Entry - 72 points The tariff points can be made up of: A Levels (GCE and VCE): 1 A Level at Grade B and 1 A Level at Grade C BTEC Extended Diploma: Grade MMP BTEC Diploma: Grade DM BTEC 90 Credit Diploma: Grade DD Access to HE: to be confirmed Minimum number of GCSEs at Grade C or above: 5 which must include: GCSE English: Grade C or 4 GCSE Maths: Grade C or 4 Are Level 2 equivalents accepted?: Yes NON-ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS DBS Clearance
Delivery and Assessment
Vocational throughout, you will benefit from applying the skills you learn to the workplace and have access to leisure facilities to carry out work-based study. Assessment for each module varies but includes a range of assessment methods such as observation, report writing, presentations, written work and research proposals.
Progression
Successful completion of this course can provide progression to level 5 or 6 of an honours degree programme in sport at the University of Worcester or to seek employment within the football and sport industry.
