About this course
All applicants will be interviewed before being offered a place on the course. Prior experience of computing is not an essential entry requirement. Mature candidates without traditional minimum entry requirements are also encouraged to apply. Our typical offer will be 100 points from a minimum of one A-Level/AVCE/National Diploma or equivalent. We accept a maximum of 20 points from Level 3 Key skills. We also require three passes at GCSE grade C or above, which must include Mathematics and English Language, or a minimum of Level 2 Key Skills in Communications, Application of Number and Information Technology (or equivalent).

Assessment procedure:
Assessment is conducted in accordance with academic regulations for the programme: Foundation Degree Programme Regulations. The final qualification is nationally recognised and validated by the University of Sunderland, one of the country†s leading universities for computer studies.

At the end of the two years study period the student has an interesting choice. Armed with the letters â€OEFd.Sc.Computing†after their name they can seek employment and apply their new found skills or they can opt to continue their studies by joining the final year of one of the University of Sunderland's well established honours degree courses in an appropriate computer topic.
