The Programme
An exciting new opportunity to study current issues related to the expanding sector of health and social care. This is the largest employment field in the South West region and the foundation degree has close links with local employment trends. Health care and social care share a common core of values, skill base and underpinning knowledge that is reflected in this programme of study.
The Programme Content
Stage 1 of the programme introduces appropriate professional skills including communication, study skills and work based learning as well as knowledge related to social change, health and social care legislation, social policy, lifespan development and understanding health and social care organisations. In stage 2 students build on this knowledge, studying issues of equality and managing resources as well as carrying out a work based project and studies of professional practise.

Costs
An enhanced search with the Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) will be done for each prospective student and there will be a charge for this. Please discuss on application.
Students will be required to purchase their own USB memory sticks and will need to purchase their own texts for the course.
There will also be a small fee charged for contribution towards photocopying.
