Entry Requirements: Candidates will need to be employed in the Retail sector and be working in a management or supervisory/team leading role. All candidates will require an interview prior to being accepted on to the programme. Candidates will also need to be IT literate and have the use of a computer with Internet access in order to complete this course. GCSE English â€-C†or equivalent is required and without this you will be asked to complete a short literacy test.

Course Description:
The FD Retailing is a flexible award delivered by the Retail Skills Centre at Leicester College. It is equivalent to the first 2 years of study at Degree level and is suitable for those in their first management role through to senior store managers.

Description Breakdown:
Those undertaking this course will learn a range of skills and develop their knowledge in a number of Retail disciplines. The course is work-based and is mainly completed on-line with tutorial support. There are 6 study days per year when candidates will be expected to attend workshops in college. These days are timetabled around the Retail calendar to avoid any disruption to the store during busy periods. Subjects include Consumer Behaviour, Personal Development, Retail Operations, Managing Information, In-store Consumer Marketing, Retail Law, Managing and Developing People.
