Schedule:
26 hours per week, preparing for audition to more advanced Drama courses.
Overview:
The aim of the Drama courses is to provide students with all the skills they need to become professional actors and presenters. Students will cover all the principles of Drama, including rehearsal and performance techniques.
The courses are designed to build confidence and give students an understanding of dialogue, as well as create awareness of physicality. Students wil also learn how to create a character through text analysis, while learning to use voice and body correctly. They are taught by actors, directors, dancers , and singers, who are currently working in the Business, and, therefore, get a true impression of what being an actor/presenter is really like.
Drama Studies will include:
Improvistion, text work, mime, acting for TV and film, animal study, Shakespeare, Chekhov, and Stanislavsky. All students will finish the course with a minimum of three prepared audition speeches (including one Shakespeare monologue) and two audition songs.
Course terms:
Full-time one year courses (3 terms: autumn winter, and spring) give students the opportunity to take external Speech and Drama examinations with Trinity Guildhall at the end of the autumn and winter terms. Sarah Mann, the Course Director is a trained Trinity Guildhall Examiner.
