  • I had been on this course some three years ago but not followed it up
so was able to compare the courses directly.
Steve's course was much better organised and contained everything
that was needed but above everything is his communicating skills
which make for an easy and educative experience. The small numbers involved
personalise everything...even lunch!...and thus everybody is relaxed and
questions and quearies are natural and done without any anxiousness.
The group does indeed become a group quickly
The material was well laid out and easy to follow with any questions
answered and the "hands on" section well done and suitably mentored,
without being interfereing ,and also encouraging.
The venue was well chosen and food and drink was again "personal"
because the group became one quickly...in no small part thanks to
Steve's communicative skills and outgoing and helpful personality. The ability
to contact Steve for guidance later was the difference between following
on with the botox and not

  • Steve Murray is a natural and effective communicator so one is relaxed and not stressed immediately. His style is such that somehow it is "personal" so it feels one to one and therefor attention is easy to maintain and absorption is facilitated.Others seem to feel the same way so that the group becomes "one "quickly also. Steve is contactable anytime, that I've found absolutely invaluable. How it should be done.I'm looking forward to my next course in a couple of months time.

What could be improved: I do not think there was anything I did not really care for.Everything from the venue
the course to the food and drink was well done.Definately amongst the best I've
ever attended.

What I would highlight: Having been on three BTx courses in the US and UK prior to this one I was expecting the usual skim over of A&P and missong out what I would consider the "Gems" of information. I have to say however the Mr Murray who led the course was a fantastic instructor and the course content was really the best I have seen in a while. It was a complete run through what you need to know to get started and I really feel that I am not alone now. I have found a resource which I will use to further my clinical knowledge and understanding of how best to use the products available. Well done for not making us feel under pressure or intimidated while learning a new skill at the weekend, (highly unusual in medicine these days!!). Many thanks and I look forward to meeting you all again at the advanced skills courses.

Course programme

Foundation Level Botulinum Toxin Type A (BOTOX®) Practitioner Training Course

...Specially developed to give you the confidence to integrate this sought after treatment into your practice, while avoiding the most common errors made by many new practitioners.

This one day course has been designed to ensure that you understand and build confidence in the use of Botulinum Toxin therapy or as it’s more commonly referred to, “BOTOX®”.

Your trainer is an experienced practitioner who will introduce you to this foundation level course using an easy to understand step by step approach.

Core Topics of the course include

  • History & development of Botulinum Toxin Type A (BtA)
  • Uses of Botulinum Toxin in aesthetic medicine.
  • Pharmacology & Toxicology
  • Facial anatomy & aesthetic considerations
  • Preparation & storage of BtA
  • Treating facial lines in the upper third
  • Client consultation & aftercare
  • Hands-on practical sessions

No previous knowledge of the product is assumed so there are no “gaps” in the training. You get a well designed course which allows you to learn in a comfortable setting with no pressure.

We will introduce you to the skills and insider tips necessary to safely and effectively treat your clients’ key problem areas:

  • Glabellar lines
  • Forehead lines
  • Periorbital lines (crow’s feet)

Full course notes are provided to take away and you’ll enjoy a clear and detailed explanation on every aspect of getting started confidently with this product.

You will learn how the product was discovered and developed, its basic chemistry and how it is ordered, stored and prepared.
You will be given full details about exactly what consumables you need and where they can be easily sourced. This will enable you to get started quickly and with the minimum of fuss.

In addition, you will be provided with details of how you can quickly open a new supplier account and obtain the product, usually without the need for any advance payment.

After a short break for lunch you will have the opportunity to practice with some of our own clients who are specially selected for these training sessions, or you may be able to bring your own model by prior arrangement.

The entire day is focussed on Botox treatment.

Through our own research, we have found that many candidates who have attended a combined Botox and Dermal Fillers course have felt that they have not gained enough confidence in either product to begin to offer the treatments.

We therefore offer a separate one day course in Dermal Flller treatments which can be booked in conjunction with this course over the same weekend at a discounted price, or can be booked separately for a later date.

This training course is fully insurance approved and is accredited with seven verifiable CPD hours. Your certificate is issued at the end of the training course.

Who may attend the course

  • GDC registered Dentists
  • GMC registered Doctors
  • RCN registered Nurses **
  • HPC registered Paramedics **
  • GDC registered Dental Hygienists & Therapists **

**Botulinum Toxin (Type A) is a prescription only medication (POM). Practitioners who are HPC, GDC or RCN registered must ensure that they have a suitable arrangement with a qualified doctor or dentist in place to allow the legal provision of this treatment. This does not apply to participation on approved training courses.

What ID should you bring
To enable participation in the practical session and in order to be awarded your certificate you must bring with you

  • Evidence of registration (GDC, GMC, HPC or RCN registration number)
  • Photographic ID such as your driving licence or Passport.
