Course programme

Course programme

In general the foundation programme starts 12 to 16 months before the official start of the course of studies. During the programme’s preliminary phase, you will begin with one or more intensive German courses. Whether you will start your language training in June, July or September depends on your level of German. We will develop an individual study plan for every student.

During the first semester (October to March) as well as in the second semester (April to September) of the foundation programme, you will attend selected seminars and lectures from your chosen course of studies and you will have the option to already sit exams. If you pass any exams, the credits will be transferred to your course of studies and thus reduce the workload in the following year or even shorten the length of your study time. Parallel to your selected courses and during semester breaks, you will continue learning German in class and further develop your writing skills through short essays on individually assigned topics.

Upon successful completion of the foundation year you will be enrolled into the study programme which starts the following October. If required, you will continue to attend German lessons during the next one or two course semesters. By the end of the first academic year, you must demonstrate a language level of C1 by either taking the TestDaF (TDN4) or by obtaining a comparable recognised certificate.
