In four intensive, highly practical weeks you get a grounding that will serve you all your radio days. The course is full-on and demanding. You’ll be busy all day every day. And you’ll have assignments to complete in your own time.
You’ll learn how to engage with listeners by developing your voice, your creativity, your natural personality and your levels of articulation. You’ll learn the everyday disciplines of radio presentation, and you’ll discover when you can let your imagination fly.
Qualified tutors will coach your voice and suggest a bespoke programme that will help get the best out of it.
Places on the course are limited. Supervision by experienced instructors is close and constant.

The course does not require a degree
One of the great aspects of the course is that it is extremely practical: lectures are kept to a minimum though they are important and relevant. Presentation course modules include:
Radio presenters
What makes a good one; what listeners expect.
Presentation skills
The tricks of the trade - building a relationship; keeping listeners interested; warmth; naturalness; “selling” music, promotions and information; station branding; studio time with daily “strip shows”; using the station id's.
TLP's
Building a profile of a target listener; matching content with the target listener; understanding and using the station style books.
Studio skills
“Driving the desk” as second nature.
Voice
Voice training – maximising the potential of your voice; using and caring for your voice; ironing out those vocal idiosyncrasies.
Show prepping
Preparing a show is essential; how to make a show a “must-listen” for the target demographic; the resources and the routine; sourcing info and ideas.
Confidence
Building the confidence you need; learning to trust yourself
Interactivity
How to use listeners to build an audience; dealing with callers on the telephone; choosing the right callers; how to make listeners part of the entertainment package; using listeners to obtain information.
