Learn a rich array of language, literary and cultural knowledge in this French and Spanish degree, taught in the heart of London. You can continue where you left off at school or join us as a complete beginner in the Spanish language, whilst improving upon your knowledge of French. The Departments of French, and Spanish, Portuguese & Latin American Studies are active researchers in all fields: including language, literature and cultural history through to the present day. The year abroad is usually split between French and Spanish-speaking countries.

Teaching features innovative approaches to French language, literature, cultural, political and historical studies.

The year abroad offers students the unique opportunity for immersion in French culture. We have exchanges with a number of partner universities in France and French speaking countries, and the opportunity to undertake an internship/work placement in a French- speaking environment (typically sourced by students themselves).

Combination of language skills, cultural literacy and critical thinking means graduates from King’s are highly employable.

All students follow required modules in French language to a high level of proficiency in written and spoken French.

1st Year

The course is divided into modules. Each year you will normally take modules totalling 120 credits.
