Programme Area: A Levels

Description:
French at advanced level develops the skills of reading, listening, speaking and writing acquired at GCSE. The AS course comprises the study of three topic areas with specific reference to France and other French speaking countries.

• Leisure, tourism, sport, hobbies
• School, HE & FE training and careers
• Problems of young people, drugs, AIDS. Continuation to A Level in the second year involves the study of three further topics.
• Contemporary France, EU, employment, emigration
• Media
• The environment

In addition, at Crosskeys, students will study two literacy texts, to be assessed by coursework and examination. A wide range of up to date language learning facilities is used, including a language laboratory and satellite TV.

Progression:
