During this short course we will visit the V&A's Islamic art gallery and adjacent galleries and explore wooden carvings, ivories, glass, textiles, metalwork and other objects. We will also visit the medieval galleries and find out how Islamic art inspired medieval artists in Europe.

About this course

- The development of Islamic art.
- Identifying motifs in Islamic art.
- The re-uses and copies of Islamic art during the medieval period.

You will be taught by looking at and discussing objects in the galleries at the V&A. Please note we are unable to guarantee stools in the rooms that we visit so you might have to stand and to walk between objects. You might wish to bring a notebook. Gallery entry is free.
