About this course

All applicants will be required to attend an interview.

No formal qualifications are needed. However students will need Level 2 literacy and numeracy skills, which will be tested at interview. Students must be motivated to develop their studies in and out of class.

Access to Art & Design (Level 3)
Course Content
This course is suited for adults returning to learning and wanting to progress to careers or Higher Education study in Art and Design. It is a one-year intensive programme that will build skills and a professional portfolio for interviews.
The year has a core that will support all craft studies. The core includes contextual studies.
Craft options include: Ceramics; Drawing and painting; Graphics; Photography; Sculpture; Textiles
Teaching/Assessment
The course is delivered in 10-week modules after which all work is assessed. Assessment tends to take the form of project work, presentations, group critique and exhibitions.
In term 1, students have the opportunity to progress from Level 2 Craft Options to Level 3 to build skills and confidence. At the end of the year all students will participate in an open studio exhibition.
Progression
This qualification can lead to:
Higher Education [e.g. HND or Degrees in Ceramics, Fine Art, Graphics, Photography, Surface Pattern and Sculpture.]
Employment in the creative industries or self employment in Art and Design related disciplines.

Additional Information
Full time students will be required to pay a studio fee of £25.
