Access to HNC Working with Communities

Aimed at: This is a part-time introductory level programme for people currently involved in, or who would like to become involved in, paid or voluntary community work.
Alternatively, it can lead to those people interested, in undertaking further courses of study in the area of Community Learning and Development.

Additional Information: * A work placement in a Community Learning and Development setting is an essential element of the course.

Location: Easterhouse and East End Campus

Available: Full-Time

Units Include:

• Introduction to Sociology
• Working with Community Groups
• Core Skills, including IT and Communications
• Practical experience within a work placement*
• Reflective Practice

Progression:

• Interview for direct entry to HNC: Working with Communities at John Wheatley College
• Employment in the area of Community Learning and Development
