Please note all students wishing to take this course need to be 19 years or older at the time of enrolment No formal qualifications are required, but your motivation and suitability will be tested at a college interview. You will also need to demonstrate writing skills at least equivalent to English Level 2 (GCSE grade A-C).

ACCESS to Humanities and Social Sciences HE Diploma OCN London Region

Course content:
This is a one year course for those aged 19+ who don't have the usual university entrance qualifications, but want to progress into higher education.
Humanities and Social Sciences students choose three subjects from the following list:
Historical Studies
Literatures
Linguistics
Sociology
Psychology.

Course Structure:
This is a credit based course, and to pass you need to gain a minimum of 60 credits. These are accumulated as the year progresses, mostly through coursework, although examinations are also set in some subjects. Academic and tutorial support is given throughout the course, and you will receive help and advice with your university applications through the UCAS system.

Course resources:
All students have access to our fully equipped state of the art learning centre. This included free internet access.

Assessment:
Continuous assessment through essays, exams, assignments and presentations.

A degree course in a wide range of subjects across the arts and social sciences.

Fees Info
The fee where stated is an 'INCLUSIVE FEE' for UK/EU students. This fee includes the tuition fee, examination fee and exam board registration fee. You may have to pay extra for materials for the course. If you are under 19 years or you are in receipt of an income related benefit the course and exam fee is FREE. Students aged 60+ years pay 70% of this fee. Students aged 19+ will also have to pay a College Registration Fee of £30 (or £20 if you receive benefit) once per academic year.Materials costs:
You will need to buy a small number of books and provide your own stationery (approximate cost for year - £80). The college may be able to help with these and other study costs for those on low income
