Description
We are delighted that you are thinking of studying at South Thames College. We promise that, if you do decide to join us, we will do everything we can to ensure that your time here is not only successful, but also enjoyable. We offer a wide variety of full and part-time vocational and Higher Education courses, designed to inspire you to achieve and to help you to find the right career. Some of our courses are so popular, they are regularly oversubscribed. Last year more than 21,000 students chose to study with us on more than 2,000 different courses at our Centres across South West London. Nearly 2,000 of these students are 16 - 18 year olds and we are very proud that we have one of the biggest facilities for this age group in the London area. Students enjoy a wide range of amenities at the College, including Learning Resource Centres, which offer state-of-the-art IT and library services, and childcare provision. More importantly, we are in the final phase of a substantial transformation of our Wandsworth campus which is costing more than £100 million.Facilities open in September 2009 include a new Sports Hall, designed to Sport England Club standards, a new Health and Social Care wing, a fully commercial, industry standard hair and beauty salons and brand new classrooms. A large Performance Theatre for drama and dance will open in 2010. We are one of the largest training providers in South London, and expect this project to have a significant and positive impact on our continuing ability to deliver training to local employers.Students come to us from all over the world; they are from many different social and ethnic backgrounds and are of all ages. It is this hugely diverse student population, our state-of-the-art learning and recreational facilities, leading edge technology and outstanding personal support, as well as our strong business and community links, great track record and love of celebrating students' success that make South Thames College such a vibrant and challenging place to study.
