Introduction
This course aims to give students the chance to gain the entry qualifications required for level 3 study in the area of Science without repeating subjects studied in a previous GCSE programme. The BTEC 1st Diploma Applied Science focuses on the application of the subjects in the workplace.

The course will be mainly delivered through lectures, practicals and individual, group and project work in class. The course will be primarily taught in a laboratory.

Progression
Employment or a more advanced courses such as the National Diplomas in Forensic Science or Medical Science. Further training can lead to careers such as forensic science, pathology lab Technician, quality control or environmental science.
