The full-time Art, Design and Media Diploma will suit you very well if you enjoy drawing, painting and making things. This practical one-year course will help you develop the skills you need for work and further study. Your assignments will give you a chance to learn about the type of work done by people with jobs in the art, design and media sector.

A BTEC Introductory Diploma is equivalent to 2 GCSEs.

Course Details:
Do you enjoy drawing, painting and making things? On this course you will learn to paint, draw and make work which will develop your practical skills. You will also learn about different artists and their work will help you create ideas for your own exciting practical projects. Throughout the year you will have several different assignments and will have the chance to work with clay, textiles, and photography.

Career Progression:
After this course you could progress to:

• A BTEC First Diploma programme in Media or Design at Nescot if you get merit grades on this course.
• Another qualification at Level 1 in an alternative sector eg. another BTEC Introductory qualification like this one
• A job in an art shop, framing studio, reprographic company

Other Information:
The units on the course are graded P (pass), M (merit) or D (distinction).

Learners are required to achieve a minimum of a pass grade in each unit to qualify for a qualification grade.

A qualification grade of pass, merit or distinction will be reported on the learner's certificate.

Fees:
A fee of 40 is payable for student art packs. This will include brushes, paint, pencils, sketchbooks, ruler and scissors.
