During the course students are free to develop their individual interests, be they 2D, such as drawing, painting, graphic design, photography or 3D, such as, ceramics, sculpture, interior design, fashion and accessory design.

About this course
Applicants must be at least 17 years old and have one A Level and 4 GCSEs at grade C or above (including English and an art based subject). Mature students may be accepted without these qualifications. All applicants will be interviewed and must have a portfolio of art and design work, indicating commitment and ability to express ideas visually.

If your ambition is a career in the visual arts or design this is the course for you. It forms a bridge between A Levels (Level 3) and University (Level 4). Working over a broad range of Art and Design disciplines you will be encouraged, and helped, to work on your own initiative, think independently and solve problems with flare. The course will also help you get together a great portfolio of work, full of exciting ideas.

How will you be assessed
Assessment is on coursework and is continuously assessed throughout the course. Students receive regular constructive feedback on their assignments. At the end of the course students exhibit their final major project at an end of year show where their work is assessed and final grades are awarded.
What can you do after course
The primary purpose of this course is to prepare students for a Degree course in Higher Education, such as a BA, in one of the many specialist Art & Design areas at University, or a related course in teaching.
Additional information
During the course, visits will be made to various galleries, exhibitions and museums. Key Skills/Functional Skills - you will be expected to undertake these at the appropriate level. What
