A qualification in Biology can lead to a wide variety of courses and careers. During the course students will study all aspects of the science of life and living things.

What will I study?
Students will study a range of areas including:
· Cells
· Biological Molecules
· Physiology
· DNA
· Cell Division
· Variation
· Populations
· The Environment
· The Nervous System
· The Role of Hormones
The work involves a mixture of class teaching, research, group work and practical work in the laboratory.

What next?
With a qualification in one or more of the Sciences you could go on to a further or higher education course in one of your subjects or, with a suitable combination of subjects, courses such as Engineering, Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Science and Environmental Science are possible. Alternatively, students are well-equipped to pursue careers in science-based industry or business.
